Exempt E-comm, ITeS, and food processing services from shutdown: CII


Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has reached out to the government to urgently intervene to exempt certain services such as E-commerce (delivery boys and supply chain vendors), Food Processing Warehousing and IT-ITeS from the imposition of section 144 and other similar directives, to enable the continuation of doorstep services for citizens now restricted to homes. 

This gains importance as more and more states are having to impose lockdowns with the spread of COVID 19. Restrictions may impact food delivery boys, movement of trucks with essential goods, services of e-commerce companies (the main supply chain) in such unusual times, and critical IT and ITES services.
